Typography
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this project was to choose a film and create a typeface based on it, then to make a movie poster using it. Sacrament is a custom typeface created for the indie short film "The Consecration of a Perpetual Virgin" by Alexander Jeremy (lofi_film25).
APPROACH
Due to the biblical overtones of the film, I approached the project by researching blackletter fonts and landing on something inspired by Textura. Traditional and historic, with light flourishes. The black leather texture and gold lettering on the poster is supposed to be reminiscent of the bible. It took a lot of revisions, peer and mentor feedback, and starting over to get to a place I liked.
